The 2020 Toyota Highlander Leaves All Competition In the Dust
When it comes to midsize SUVs, there are a ton on the market but only one Highlander. From comfort to safety to power and everything in between, Toyota delivers it all with the three-row Highlander. Here’s why the 2020 Highlander leaves all its competition in the dust.
Performance
Choose between a gas-powered Highlander or a hybrid. The gas engine is a 3.5-liter V-6 with start and stop technology that puts out 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. This V-6 also provides a 5,000-pound towing capacity when properly equipped. If you go the hybrid route, you’ll get a 2.5-liter engine paired with an electric motor that offers a net horsepower of 243 and a 3,500-pound towing capacity.
Interior
Inside the 2020 Highlander, you’ll have space for up to eight people or 84.3 cubic feet of cargo space depending on your seating configuration. The center console wireless charging pad, along with five USB ports and a Wi-Fi hot spot, will keep everyone connected, charged, and happy even during long trips.
Safety
The safety features that come standard with every 2020 Toyota Highlander, even the base trim, will blow your mind. Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.0 package includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and cyclist detection, lane departure alerts with steering assistance, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high beams, road sign assist, and full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control. Also standard with all trims, the Star Safety System comes with enhanced stability control, smart stop technology, and traction control.
