See Englewood and Surrounding Area on the Cheap

Located just south of Denver, Englewood, Colorado, provides residents and visitors with plenty of places to see and things to do. If you’re looking for a low-cost activity in the area, consider these three attractions.

Cherry Creek State Park

Cherry Creek State Park is located on Denver’s southeast side, about 7 miles from Englewood. Head to this free public park for a day of hiking, cycling, or horseback riding on its 35 miles of trails. You can also boat or fish on the 880-acre lake. You’ll get to experience the area’s native terrain, including marshes, grasslands, and groves of cottonwood trees, and view wildlife such as mule deer and great horned owls.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

Drive 14 miles into the foothills just west of town to visit the famed Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. It’s free to explore when a concert or performance isn’t taking place. You can admire the incredible natural stone amphitheater, learn about the history of the red rocks, and hike or bike the multiuse trails.

Art District on Santa Fe

Santa Fe Drive in Denver is home to an art district filled with blocks of galleries, cafes, and displays. Here you’ll find an impressive collection of fine art, antiques, fashion, gardens, furniture, and more from hundreds of artists. Wander the district to admire the local art, or join the free Art Walk held twice a month.

You don’t have to spend much money to enjoy many of the Englewood area’s natural and cultural attractions.
